KeyPOS is a mobile checkout solution, bringing together on one device the application power of a smartphone or tablet, and a payment terminal for debit and credit card payments. This device, consisting of a hardware solution and an innovative mobile application, provides a complete, modular response enabling in-store sales forces to offer advice to their customers and take their payment, any time and anywhere. The application was designed as an “interactive tool kit” for sales assistants, providing both a mobile checkout, and an array of services to improve the advice and service received by customers.
MANAGING BUSY PERIODS
KeyPOS makes your checkout process flexible by allowing new checkouts to be deployed quickly, or the number of checkouts to be adjusted according to the level of traffic in-store. Using KeyPOS requires no modifications to the point of sale, as the multifunction device is able to scan barcodes, apply discounts and take customers’ debit or credit card payments.
CLOSING “GUIDED” SALES
KeyPOS creates continuity in the sales process by enabling sales assistants to take charge of the whole process, from advice through to checkout. This continuity and fluidity in the sales process helps reduce the number of abandoned baskets, and above all increases customer satisfaction (no waiting at the checkout, guidance, feeling of special treatment...).
A SOLUTION THAT INTEGRATES A NEW GENERATION OF PAYMENT TERMINALS
The KeyPOS solution is a complete hardware and software environment:
- Checkout software for mobile terminals. Sales assistants can use the embedded checkout application to scan or input items, to display the list and the total price of purchases for checkout and to handle discounts, promotions and loyalty benefits. This application has been designed to function on all types of mobile operating system (IOS, Android and Windows 8), in order to meet all the requirements of the physical terminal.
- An ISMP or ICMP Electronic Payment Terminal. This innovative solution from Ingenico combines on one device an electronic payment terminal and a smartphone/tablet with the embedded checkout application. The two terminals are in direct communication: the ticket created in the checkout software is automatically transferred to the EPT for payment by debit and credit cards with chips and magnetic strips.
- The terminal has a laser scanner for 1D or 2D codes (EAN and QR) so that the barcodes of the items for checkout can be scanned straightaway. It can also be connected via wifi or 3G as required.
This solution can be combined with a portable Bluetooth printer so that sales assistants can print receipts after payment. Receipts can also be sent by e-mail if customers so wish.

A MULTIFUNCTION TOOL FOR SALES FORCES
Because the KeyPOS software solution was designed for iPhone and iPod touch, it benefits from all the rich functionality offered by these terminals. Therefore, in addition to the checkout software, KeyPOS can embed a number of assistance features to help sales assistants with the sales process and in their daily tasks: viewing product descriptions, stocks and availability, customer information (via the loyalty card scan), help with inventories, creating purchase lists, options for upselling / cross-selling, monitoring sales statistics...
A TOOL CONNECTED TO YOUR INFORMATION SYSTEM AND COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR EXISTING PAYMENT SOLUTION
KeyPOS works alongside your current payment system and requires no modifications to the solutions you already have in place. Therefore, a KeyPOS project can be implemented quickly and simply.
All the data retrieved and sent by KeyPOS (product descriptions, prices, stock, loyalty, discounts...) are taken directly from your information system so that information is not duplicated and consistency with your existing systems is ensured.
